Mudslides in areas of steep terrain are also possible. .Wind...Sustained winds in excess of 20 MPH are expected across the nearshore and offshore Atlantic and Caribbean waters. .Waves...Choppy seas up to 5 to 6 feet expected mainly across the Atlantic waters. .Rip Currents...There is a moderate risk of rip currents for the north facing beaches of Puerto Rico as well as across the beaches in southeastern and southwestern Puerto Rico, Vieques, and Culebra. .Days Two through Seven...Saturday through Thursday Locally and diurnally induced showers and thunderstorms will develop each afternoon, mainly across the northwest quadrant of Puerto Rico. This could result in urban and small stream flooding as well as mudslides in areas of steep terrain. Enhanced shower and thunderstorm activity is possible on Sunday as a tropical wave in combination with a mid to upper-level trough approaches the region. Therefore, the potential exists for more widespread urban and small stream flooding.
