...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM EDT SATURDAY...
...COASTAL FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY MORNING
THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON...

* LOCATIONS...Shoreline in the District of Columbia and 
  Arlington County and the city of Alexandria.

* TIDAL DEPARTURE...Around one to two feet through tonight,
  increasing as freshwater inundation begins on Saturday and lasts
  into Sunday, with potential to significantly raise tide levels 
  above normal by several feet.

* TIMING...Around times of high tide through Friday. High tide at
  the Washington Channel is at 10:46 AM this morning and 11:34 PM
  this evening. High tide at Alexandria is at 11:04 AM this
  morning and 11:52 PM this evening. Later, freshwater inundation
  could lead to moderate flooding or greater, potentially for a
  prolonged period Saturday through at least Sunday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Coastal Flood Watch means that conditions favorable for
flooding are expected to develop. Coastal residents should be
alert for later statements or warnings, and take action to
protect property.

A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
