Canadian high pressure will build across the region and will linger through late this week. A broad area of low pressure could impact the area next weekend. && .NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM MONDAY MORNING/... Cool, dry high pressure will settle over the area tonight. Winds will drop to near calm away from the coast after sunset, which combined with clear skies supports strong radiational cooling. Relatively chilly late April temps of mid to upper 40s are expected inland from the coast by late tonight. && .SHORT TERM /6 AM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH WEDNESDAY/... Mid level heights are expected to increase Monday through Wednesday. The center of large high pressure will track across the forecast area on Monday, then pushing off the Carolina coast by Tuesday afternoon, lingering through Wednesday. This pattern will support on dry conditions through the short term period. Temperature are forecast to modify each day from Monday through Wednesday. On Monday, high temperatures are forecast to range from the low 70s across the SC Lowcountry to near 80 along the Altamaha River. By Wednesday, high temperatures in the low to mid 80s should be common across the CWA, upper 80s possible within the Altamaha Basin. && .LONG TERM /WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY/... The area will remain along the western periphery of high pressure centered over the western Atlantic through late week. In general, a southerly sfc wind in combination with mostly sunny skies should support high temps in the mid/upper 80s Thursday through Saturday. Overnight lows should also indicate a warming trend with Wednesday night lows in the upper 50s/lower 60s, becoming lower/middle 60s Thursday night, then mid 60s for most areas Friday night. The next best chance of precip should come with a broad area of low pressure that develops along a stalling cold front Saturday into Saturday night. A slight chance of showers is possible as this feature slowly traverses the Southeast. Conditions should be drier and slightly cooler on Sunday with high temps returning to the upper 70s/lower 80s. && .AVIATION /19Z SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/... VFR at KCHS and KSAV through 18Z Monday. Extended Aviation Outlook: VFR conditions should remain across the terminals through late week. && .MARINE... A fairly strong thermal gradient will exist tonight over the waters as cooler air moves in inland. The best gradient will shift to the south overnight so we are showing slightly stronger winds over the offshore GA waters where sustained 15 gusting to 20 kt possible. Monday through Friday: Conditions will remain well below Small Craft Advisory levels over all coastal waters through late week. Large high pressure will dominate the sfc pattern through the work week. As high pressure builds over the region on Monday, winds will shift from the east. Tuesday through Friday, light winds should remain from the southeast. Wave heights are forecast to range from 2-4 feet across the marine zones on Monday. Veering light winds will result in wave heights to decrease to 1-2 feet Tuesday through Thursday. Wave heights may build around a foot on Friday. && .CHS WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES... GA...None.
