Light snowfall remains present over the valleys, with light accumulations noted. Periods of heavier snow possible along the foothills. The trough producing this snowfall will see its axis approaching eastern Oregon early Monday morning. As this axis moves through, showers will work to taper off with a building northerly flow behind the trough. Instability along the axis in the afternoon may generate a few showers Monday afternoon, but any accumulation should be limited. Drier conditions expected on Tuesday with warming temperatures over the mountains, though overall temperatures remain 10 to 15 degrees below normal. A few showers may form over Baker County on Tuesday afternoon, though confidence in this development is low. .LONG TERM...Tuesday night through Sunday...Tuesday night and Wednesday precipitation will be mainly confined to the mountains of eastern Oregon and central Idaho. The next upper level low pressure trough will deepen as it moves out of Alaska and south along the coast. Ahead of this system, snow will spread across our area Wednesday night and continue on Friday as the low pressure center moves inland over the northwest states and western Canada. Scattered snow showers will continue through Sunday.
