Skies cleared from the north during the morning. Temperatures were very cold, ranging from the single digits north of I-74, to the lower teens south of I-70. Another Arctic high pressure ridge will build into the region for today through Saturday. This will bring more bitterly cold air to the Midwest. The next chance for unsettled weather will be on Sunday, as a frontal boundary tracks through the area. This will produce a wintery mix of precipitation across the Midwest. High temperatures today will range from the single digits in northern Illinois, to the lower 30s in southern Missouri. Lows tonight will range from the teens below zero in northern Illinois, to the teens above zero in southern Missouri. $$
