Early morning temperatures were in the single digits to teens below zero, with light westerly winds producing wind chills of -10 to -30. The strong high pressure ridge will begin to shift to the southeast this afternoon, as a weak cold front approaches form the northwest. This front will bring some light snow and flurries to the Midwest, for tonight and Wednesday. Bitterly cold air will remain in place, for the remainder of the week. High temperatures today will range from the single digits in northern Illinois, to the lower 20s in southern Missouri. Lows tonight will drop into the single digits for much of the Midwest. $$
