609 FXUS64 KSJT 080856 AFDSJT Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service San Angelo TX 356 AM CDT Sat Jul 8 2017 .SHORT TERM... (Today and Tonight) A persistence forecast still looks best for the next 24 hours. A weak shear axis will remain over our area of Texas, for the next 24 hours. Thus, continuing slight chance PoPs, for many of our counties this afternoon, looks reasonable. Otherwise, highs today and lows tonight close to persistence look good. .LONG TERM... (Sunday through Friday) There is the mention of isolated thunderstorms on Sunday, as a weak upper level trough over East and Central Texas, brings weak northerly flow over the region. Forecast becomes dry Monday, however, as the large upper ridge over the Southwest U.S. expands eastward. A few showers or thunderstorms will be possible Thursday into Friday, mainly from the Concho Valley and southwestward, as an upper trough moves west across Northern Mexico. Highs will be generally in the mid 90s with lows in the lower 70s through next week. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
