The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow...which is in effect from 4 AM to 10 PM PST Tuesday. * TIMING...The heaviest snow will likely fall mid Tuesday morning through Tuesday afternoon. * SNOW LEVEL...4500 to 5500 ft early Tuesday morning...falling to 2500-3500 ft Tuesday afternoon. Snow levels will be lowest throughout the event near Mt Hood and highest near Willamette Pass. * ACCUMULATIONS...4 to 8 inches near 4000 ft with 6 to 10 inches above 5000 ft. The heaviest snow appears likely to fall between the Three Sisters and Mt Jefferson including areas near Santiam Pass along US20. * IMPACTS...Lowering snow levels and a period of heavier snow will likely produce winter-like travel conditions over the central and north Oregon Cascade passes mid Tuesday morning through at least Tuesday afternoon.
