404 FXUS64 KCRP 140252 AAC AFDCRP Area Forecast Discussion...UPDATED National Weather Service Corpus Christi TX 952 PM CDT TUE SEP 13 2016 .DISCUSSION...Have issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for the Gulf- facing beaches of Padre and Mustang Islands for tonight. Water levels have been running around 1 ft above predicted levels for the past 24 hours and with easterly flow expected to continue through tonight...I see no reason why water levels will not reach the dunes at times during high tide /which will occur overnight/. No impacts are currently expected to occur along area bays /such as North Beach/. Along the Gulf-facing beaches...water will likely make driving impossible at times along portions of the beaches. Convection that plagued Victoria and Webb Counties for much of the evening is gradually diminishing in areal coverage. Am expecting areal coverage to continue to diminish through late evening across the Brush Country as nocturnal cooling increases. Still can not rule out an isolated shower overnight though as weak easterly LLVL flow from H9 to H8 continues and as weak DPVA and weak H25 diffluence occurs. By late in the night...an increase in coastal moisture convergence should result in scattered shower development across the coastal counties and adjacent marine areas of the W Gulf. Minor changes were made to inherited wind forecast with no changes made to any other weather elements for the remainder of tonight. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
