Northeast winds at 5 to 15 mph occurred, and temperatures ranged from 63 degrees at the Vermilion County airport to 77 degrees at the Mount Carmel airport as of 8 p.m. Canadian high pressure will continue to build southward into the Midwest, with cooler and drier air remaining over the region through Thursday. Lows tonight will drop down into the low to mid 50s with pleasant highs in the mid to upper 70s on Thursday. The next weather system over the Pacific northwest is expected to move into the region later Thursday night and Friday bringing the next chance of showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures begin to warm up, yet remain pleasant for late July, by the end of the week with highs in the low to mid 80s on Friday. $$ ALW
