Low temperatures were very mild for January this morning. Lows were mainly in the mid and upper 30s. Surface high pressure in eastern South Dakota late this morning will move into the Middle Mississippi Valley Region this afternoon. A surface trough is expected to strengthen in the Northern and Central Plains this afternoon and move into the Great Lakes region Sunday morning. Mild temperatures can be expected over most of the Central Plains this weekend before an arctic front affects the region Sunday night and early next week. High temperatures this afternoon will range from the mid 40s in the northeast corner of Kansas to the lower 60s in parts of the Southern High Plains. Highs for western and central Kansas Will be in the mid and upper 50s. $$ Lee
