Temperatures across the area at 4 a.m., ranged from 1 degree below zero at Champaign, to 4 degrees at Jacksonville. Wind chills ranged from minus 10 degrees at Galesburg to minus 13 degrees at Bloomington. Bitterly cold wind chill readings of 10 to 25 below zero will occur this morning across Wisconsin, Iowa and northern Illinois where wind chill advisories are posted. A stronger storm system off the southern California coast will spread mixed precipitation across Missouri and southwest parts of Illinois and Kentucky by Friday, and mainly snow over the rest of the region late Friday into Saturday with multiple inches of snow accumulating. High temperatures today, will range from the single digits above zero across northern Wisconsin to the middle 30s across the Ozarks of southwest Missouri. Overnight low temperatures, will range from near zero across northwest Wisconsin, to the middle 20s across west central Missouri. $$ JRP
