RECENT WARM WEATHER AND INCREASED SNOWMELT HAS PRODUCED INCREASED RUNOFF ON THE BITTERROOT RIVER AND SURROUNDING CREEKS AND STREAMS RESULTING IN LOW LYING PONDING OF WATER. WHILE THE BITTERROOT RIVER IS NOT EXPECTED TO REACH FLOOD STAGE IT HAS COME CLOSE TO BANKFULL STAGE. THIS WILL RESULT IN SEVERAL POTENTIAL IMPACTS: 1. HIGH AND FAST FLOWING RIVER WHICH IS NOT ADVISABLE TO FLOAT. 2. COLD TEMPERATURES IN THE RIVERS CAN RESULT IN HYPOTHERMIA. 3.
