343 AWUS81 KCLE 230249 RWSCLE LATE EVENING OHIO WEATHER STORY NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WILMINGTON OH 949 PM EST WED DEC 22 2010 A WEAK UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE AND AN ASSOCIATED AREA OF LOW PRESSURE PROVIDED MUCH OF OHIO WITH LIGHT SNOW TODAY. ACCUMULATIONS ALL ACROSS THE STATE WERE LIGHT...WITH THE HIGHEST VALUES OF AROUND AN INCH REPORTED IN THE NORTHERN PART OF THE STATE. HIGH TEMPERATURES RANGED FROM THE LOWER 30S IN THE NORTH...TO THE MID 30S IN THE SOUTH. THESE VALUES ARE STILL ABOUT 5 DEGREES BELOW AVERAGE FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR. DESPITE A FEW LINGERING FLURRIES...MOST OF THE SNOW HAS PUSHED OFF TO THE SOUTHEAST OF THE AREA. CLEAR SKIES ARE CURRENTLY BEING REPORTED IN NORTHWESTERN OHIO...AND EXPECT THESE CLEAR SKIES TO CONTINUE WORKING SOUTHEAST OVERNIGHT. IN AREAS THAT DO SEE A BREAK IN THE CLOUDS...TEMPERATURES WILL DROP OFF QUICKLY TONIGHT. EXPECT THAT MOST OF WESTERN OHIO WILL BOTTOM OUT IN THE UPPER TEENS...WHILE EASTERN OHIO WILL REMAIN IN THE MIDDLE 20S DUE TO THE CONTINUED CLOUD COVER. HIGH PRESSURE WILL DOMINATE THE WEATHER ON THURSDAY AND CONTINUE ITS PRESENCE THROUGH THE WEEKEND. THIS MEANS THAT CONDITIONS WILL STAY DRY...BUT CHILLY. THE ONLY EXCEPTION TO THE DRY WEATHER WILL BE IN FAR SOUTHERN OHIO...WHERE AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE PASSING TO THE SOUTH MAY GET CLOSE ENOUGH TO PROVIDE A FEW LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS ON FRIDAY. OTHERWISE...NORTHERLY WINDS WILL KEEP TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 20S TO LOW 30S THROUGH THE WEEKEND. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IS EVALUATING THIS PRODUCT FOR POSSIBLE DISCONTINUATION.
