AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE OVER ILLINOIS CONTINUED TO APPROACH THE BUCKEYE STATE FROM THE WEST OVERNIGHT AND THIS MORNING. SNOW ASSOCIATED WITH THIS LOW SPREAD INTO FAR WESTERN OHIO AROUND DAYBREAK. BY LATE MORNING THE SNOW WAS APPROACHING THE COLUMBUS AND TOLEDO AREAS. FURTHER EAST IN THE STATE...PATCHY AREAS OF FREEZING DRIZZLE OR FLURRIES CONTINUED THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS IN THE WEST HAVE BEEN LESS THAN AN INCH SO FAR. LOW TEMPERATURES THIS MORNING WERE SEASONABLE AND RANGED FROM 18 DEGREES AT CINCINNATI TO 22 DEGREES AT BOTH YOUNGSTOWN AND CLEVELAND. LATE IN THE MORNING...READINGS REMAINED IN THE LOWER 20S MOST LOCATIONS. THE LOW OVER ILLINOIS IS EXPECTED TO MOVE EAST ACROSS NORTHERN OHIO THIS EVENING. THE SNOW ASSOCIATED WITH THIS LOW WILL SPREAD EAST ACROSS THE REMAINDER OF THE STATE BY EARLY EVENING. SNOW WILL CONTINUE MUCH OF THE NIGHT AND THEN TAPER OFF FROM SOUTHWEST TO NORTHEAST EARLY FRIDAY. BY THAT TIME...MOST LOCATIONS WILL HAVE SEEN 2 TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW WITH SLIGHTLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE IN THE FAR NORTH. HIGHS THIS AFTERNOON WILL BE MAINLY IN THE MIDDLE 20S WITH LOWS TONIGHT IN THE TEENS. COLDER AIR WILL MOVE INTO THE STATE FRIDAY AND SATURDAY BEHIND THE LOW. LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST OHIO. LAKE EFFECT SNOW WATCHES REMAIN IN EFFECT FOR THE SNOWBELT EAST OF CLEVELAND. SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS ARE LIKELY IN THE WATCH AREA. LOCATIONS TO THE WEST AND SOUTH WILL SEE AT LEAST A CHANCE OF SNOW SHOWERS THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING. HIGHS FRIDAY WILL BE IN THE LOWER 20S BUT READINGS WILL STRUGGLE TO GET OUT OF THE TEENS FOR HIGHS ON SATURDAY.
