HOWEVER...A SLOW MOVING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM LOCATED OVER THE SOUTHERN PLAINS PRODUCED A SWATH OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE WESTERN HALF OF KANSAS...MUCH OF NEBRASKA...AND EASTERN PORTIONS OF THE DAKOTAS. ALSO...A FEW ISOLATED LIGHT SHOWERS WERE FOUND ALONG THE MISSOURI RIVER IN FAR WESTERN IOWA...BUT QUICKLY DIMINISHED AFTER SUNSET. TEMPERATURES OVER THE STATE AT 9 PM CDT...RANGED IN THE LOWER 70S IN THE FAR WEST...AND IN THE UPPER 70S TO AROUND 80 OVER THE REST OF THE STATE. WINDS WERE LIGHT OUT OF THE SOUTHEAST THIS EVENING. WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE OVER IOWA DURING THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS AS AN UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE REMAINS PARKED OVER THE GREAT LAKES AND MIDWEST. HIGHS LOOK TO RANGE IN THE UPPER 80S TO THE LOWER 90S FROM TOMORROW THROUGH SUNDAY...WITH LOWS RANGING IN THE 60S DURING THE PERIOD. THE NEXT CHANCE FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS IS ANTICIPATED ON MONDAY AND MONDAY NIGHT WHEN A DISTURBANCE PUSHES THROUGH THE REGION. $$ KLP
