WITH SUMMER TO OFFICIALLY BEGIN ON FRIDAY...THE HEAT AND HUMIDITY HAS ALREADY ARRIVED ACROSS THE BUCKEYE STATE...AS AFTERNOON HIGH TEMPERATURES WERE REPORTED IN THE 80S AND LOW 90S. SUNNY SKIES ALONG WITH DRY CONDITIONS AND HEAT INDICES THAT REACHED INTO THE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE HEAT STRESS CATEGORY. OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS...HEAT INDICES WILL RANGE FROM THE MID 80S TO MID 90S. THIS MEANS FATIGUE TO SUNSTROKE AND HEAT CRAMPS ARE POSSIBLE IF PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO THESE CONDITIONS. A SAFETY TIP OR TWO IS TO WEAR LIGHTWEIGHT LIGHT COLORED CLOTHING AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER OR OTHER NON ALCOHOL FLUIDS. AS WE MOVE INTO FRIDAY AND THE UPCOMING WEEKEND...THE THREAT FOR A SHOWER OR THUNDERSTORM BECOMES APPARENT...THUS THE RAIN WILL HELP TO MINIMIZE THE HEAT FACTOR. THE DOME OF HIGH PRESSURE ANCHORED OVER THE NEW ENGLAND COAST WILL CONTINUE WARM DAYS AND MUGGY NIGHTS. TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE STATE WILL RANGE FROM 5 TO 10 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL AND A 30 TO 40 PERCENT CHANGE FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. LOW TEMPERATURES TONIGHT WILL BE IN THE MID AND UPPER 60S. A FEW LOW VALLEY AREAS MAY SEE A TOUCH OF LIGHT MORNING FOR....OTHERWISE FOR FRIDAY HAZY WARM AND HUMID WITH A 30 PERCENT CHANCE OF AFTERNOON SHOWERS OR POSSIBLE RUMBLE OF THUNDER. ALTHOUGH THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS HAVE BEEN AND WILL BE DRY...SATELLITE IMAGERY SHOWED A FEW CUMULUS CLOUDS DEVELOPING AND DISAPATING ALONG THE INDIANA OHIO BORDER. THE MASS OF MORE SIGNIFICANT CLOUD COVER WAS WELL TO THE WEST ACROSS THE UPPER MIDWEST MISSOURI VALLEY IN ASSOCIATION WITH A COLD FRONT TRYING TO MOVE EAST..BUT BEING HELD AT BAY BY THE ANCHORED AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE EAST. NO MAJOR CHANGES ARE EXPECTED WE MOVE INTO THE WEEKEND. THE CLOSER THE FRONT GETS TO OHIO THE BETTER CHANCE FOR RAIN. $$ SAM
