000 FXUS66 KEKA 250937 AFDEKA AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE EUREKA CA 230 AM PDT TUE JUL 25 2000 A SERIES OF SHORT WAVES MOVING INTO THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST WILL WEAKEN THE UPPER RIDGE OVER THE FOUR CORNERS REGION TODAY AND WEDNESDAY. THIS SHOULD RESULT IN SOMEWHAT COOLER HIGH TEMPS INLAND TODAY AND A LITTLE COOLER AGAIN ON WEDNESDAY. THE MARINE LAYER SHOULD DEEPEN AT THE COAST DUE TO INCREASED ONSHORE FLOW. CLOUDS DID NOT CLEAR AT THE COAST NORTH OF THE CAPE YESTERDAY AND WITH A DEEPENING MARINE LAYER DO NOT THINK THERE WILL BE MUCH SUNSHINE EITHER TODAY OR WEDNESDAY. THERE IS A CHANCE ONE OF THESE SHORT WAVES COULD BREAK THE LOW LEVEL INVERSION AND SOMEWHAT MIX THE COASTAL STRATUS OUT BUT WILL KEEP A CLOUDY FORECAST FOR NOW. STRATUS SHOULD BE MORE SPOTTY SOUTH OF THE CAPE DUE WHERE LOW LEVEL FLOW IS MORE PARALLEL TO THE COASTLINE. MODELS DO NOT INDICATE ANY UPWARD VERTICAL MOTION AND DEEPEST MOISTURE WILL BE NORTH OF THE AREA. THEREFORE WILL KEEP A MENTION OF PATCHY DRIZZLE AT THE COAST NIGHT AND MORNING HOURS BUT DO NOT THINK THERE WILL BE ENOUGH TO MEASURE. THE UPPER RIDGE REBUILDS OVER THE AREA TOWARDS THE END OF THE WEEK FOR A WARMING TREND INLAN=D WITH TRIPLE DIGITS POSSIBLE SOME LOCATIONS BY SATURDAY. SCHNEIDER ALL POPS ZERO. .EKA...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY CAPE MENDOCINO TO PT ARENA OUT TO 60NM.
