Weather Summary for Iowa
National Weather Service Des Moines IA
515 AM CST Tue Dec 11 2018

High cloudiness drifted across Iowa overnight with patchy fog
northwest, but there was no precipitation. Temperatures heading
toward daybreak were fairly typical for mid December with readings
from the teens north to 20s south. Winds were light from the
southwest.

Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy today with mild temperatures as
a system approaches the Midwest. Highs should vary from the upper 20s
north to 40s south. The system is expected to bring chances for light
snow or light freezing rain across the upper Mississippi River Valley
by early Wednesday morning, including portions of eastern Iowa and
northwest Illinois.

Temperatures will remain near seasonal normals through midweek with
another system affecting the region Thursday morning through Friday
morning, mainly from the southeast half of Iowa into Missouri and
Illinois. There will be chances for light rain or light snow through
this period, and possibly light freezing rain across southern Iowa
into the morning commute Thursday.
