Weather Summary for Iowa
National Weather Service Des Moines IA
448 AM CST Thu Dec 6 2018

Cloudy skies were found across much of the region during the overnight
hours with the exception of southern Minnesota where a break in the
cloud deck prevailed. Winds were out of the north at 10 to 20 mph and
temperatures ranged in the teens and 20s. A few spots across southern
Minnesota where clear skies were located dropped into the single
digits above zero. Wind chill readings ranged from zero to 15 above
zero across Iowa as of 4 AM this morning.

Expect the cloud cover to gradually diminish today across the region
with temperatures rising into the teens and 20s. High pressure will
provide a cold and mostly clear night over a good portion of the
region tonight and temperatures look to drop into the single digits
below zero in northern Iowa and southern Minnesota. Wind chill values
should drop into the teens below zero by Friday morning in this
location. Dry and cold conditions are forecast to persist into the
weekend and into early next week with high pressure dominating the
weather pattern.
