...SUMMARY...
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOUNT HOLLY NJ HAS CONFIRMED A
WEAK TORNADO NEAR MOUNT EPHRAIM IN CAMDEN COUNTY NEW JERSEY ON
SEPTEMBER 4, 2012. A BRIEF TOUCHDOWN OCCURRED ALONG THE WEST SIDE
OF CLEVELAND AVENUE AROUND 631 PM. THE TORNADO THEN MOVED IN AN
EAST-NORTHEAST DIRECTION...CROSSING JEFFERSON AVENUE BEFORE
LIFTING AS IT APPROACHED KINGS HIGHWAY. SEVERAL HOMES IN THE AREA
EXPERIENCED ROOF DAMAGE...MAINLY FROM FALLEN TREE LIMBS. ONE LARGE
TREE WAS UPROOTED..AND A FEW SMALL TREES WERE BENT FROM THE WIND.
THE MAXIMUM WIND SPEEDS WERE ESTIMATED AT 70 MPH...MEANING THIS
WAS A WEAK EF-0 TORNADO.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE CAMDEN COUNTY
OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AND THE MOUNT EPHRAIM OFFICE OF
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT FOR THEIR HELP AND ASSISTANCE IN THE FIELD
SURVEY OF THIS TORNADO.
