...DAMAGE SURVEY RESULTS FOR SOUTHERN GRAVES COUNTY...

THE FOLLOWING IS THE PRELIMINARY DAMAGE ASSESSMENT FOR SOUTHERN 
GRAVES COUNTY KENTUCKY.

 * EVENT TYPE.........EF1 TORNADO

 * EVENT DATE.........APRIL 25 2011 INTO APRIL 26 2011

 * EVENT TIME.........1153 PM TO 1203 AM

 * EVENT LOCATION.....1.2 MILES EAST OF DUKEDOM TENNESSEE TO 2.6 
MILES SOUTHWEST OF LYNNVILLE KENTUCKY. 

 * PEAK WIND..........100 MPH

 * AVG. PATH WIDTH....75 YARDS...MAX 225 YARDS

 * PATH LENGTH........15 MILES

 * INJURIES...........NONE 

 * FATALITIES.........NONE 

 * DAMAGE DETAIL......TORNADO INITIALLY TOUCHED DOWN 4.5 MILES 
NORTHEAST OF MARTIN TENNESSEE...CROSSING THE STATE LINE AT 1153 PM. 
THE TORNADO INITIALLY PARALLELED STATE LINE ROAD WHERE MAINLY TREE 
DAMAGE WAS FOUND. ALONG KENTUCKY HIGHWAY 303 A HOME WAS DAMAGED. THE 
SIDE PORCH WAS LIFTED WHICH RESULTED IN DAMAGE TO POSTS. A GAZEBO 
WAS DESTROYED ALONG WITH A PLAYHOUSE. A GARAGE AT THE NORTH END OF 
THE HOUSE SUSTAINED MAJOR DAMAGE AS IT WAS PUSHED IN NEAR THE CENTER 
WHICH DESTROYED THE GARAGE DOOR. SMALL PORTIONS OF NEARBY GRAPE 
VINES WERE IMPALED IN THE ROOF OF THE PORCH AND A STICK WAS IMPALED 
IN THE HOUSE. AS THE TORNADO MOVED NORTHEAST, MAINLY TREE DAMAGE WAS 
SEEN WITH UPROOTED TREES AND LARGE TREE LIMBS DOWN. THE TORNADO 
LIFTED 2.6 MILES SOUTHWEST OF LYNNVILLE KENTUCKY ALONG HIGH ROAD. 
OTHER TREE DAMAGE WAS SEEN TO THE SOUTH OF THE PATH NEAR LYNNVILLE 
KENTUCKY WHICH IS MOST LIKELY FROM STRAIGHT LINE WINDS.
