...DAMAGE SURVEY RESULTS FOR WARRICK COUNTY INDIANA...

THE FOLLOWING IS THE PRELIMINARY DAMAGE ASSESSMENT FOR
WARRICK COUNTY INDIANA.

 * EVENT TYPE.........EF2 TORNADO

 * EVENT DATE.........TUESDAY APRIL 26 2011

 * EVENT TIME.........APPROXIMATELY 202 AM CDT

 * EVENT LOCATION.....THE TORNADO BEGAN ABOUT 4.5 MILES NORTH
   NORTHWEST OF BOONVILLE OR JUST SOUTHWEST OF GREENBRIER ON
   MOTTLEY ROAD. THE TORNADO TRAVELED NORTH NORTHEAST ACROSS HWY
   61 JUST SOUTH OF GREENBRIER AND CROSSED OVER KELLY ROAD. THE
   TORNADO COULD HAVE CROSSED INTO THE LYNNVILLE MINE NORTH OF
   KELLY ROAD...HOWEVER DUE TO THE LACK OF ROADS...SURVEY CREWS
   WERE UNABLE TO TRACK THE TORNADO ANY FURTHER THAN KELLY ROAD.
   HOWEVER...THE TORNADO DID TOUCH BACK DOWN INSIDE IN THE
   LYNNVILLE MINE ON EBY ROAD NORTH OF DICKEYVILLE ROAD OR ABOUT
   3.5 MILES SOUTHEAST OF LYNNVILLE. THE TORNADO WAS ONLY ON THE
   GROUND FOR ABOUT ANOTHER QUARTER TO HALF MILE.

 * PEAK WIND..........120 MPH

 * AVG. PATH WIDTH....300 YDS

 * PATH LENGTH........1.5 MILES 

 * INJURIES...........NONE

 * FATALITIES.........NONE

 * DAMAGE DETAIL......AT INITIAL TOUCHDOWN ON MOTTLEY ROAD...MANY
   TREES WERE SNAPPED OR UPROOTED. ONCE THE TORNADO ARRIVED AT HWY
   61...IT DEMOLISHED A BARN AND TOSSED THE DEBRIS ABOUT 50-75
   YDS. ANOTHER BARN WAS DAMAGED AS WELL. NUMEROUS LARGE TREES
   WERE UPROOTED OR SNAPPED IN THIS LOCATION AS WELL. SEVERAL
   HOMES SUFFERED ROOF DAMAGE FROM BOTH THE WIND AND FROM TREES OR
   LARGE BRANCHES FALLING ON THEM. THREE TELEPHONE POLES WERE ALSO
   SNAPPED ON HWY 61 IN THE PATH.
