SURVEY SUMMARY: SHORT TRACK TORNADO. TWO HOUSES HAD ROOF DAMAGE. A
SHOP WAS DESTROYED. AN RV AND FLAT BED TRUCK WAS OVERTURNED.
TRACTOR SHED ROOF AND SMALL METAL SHED HAD ROOF DAMAGED. TREES
DAMAGED.

SURVEY SUMMARY: THE TORNADO BEGAN JUST NORTHEAST OF EXIT 35 ON
I-40 IN THE BELMONT COMMUNITY IN EAST FAYETTE COUNTY. THE MOST
SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE WAS TO A LARGE BARN THAT WAS TOTALLY DESTROYED.
SEVERAL OTHER OUTBUILDINGS WERE ALSO DESTROYED. THE TORNADO THEN
CONTINUED MOVING NORTHEAST WHERE IT SNAPPED AND UPROOTED MANY
TREES. A RURAL CHURCH ALSO SUFFERED DAMAGE WHEN IT WAS MOVED ABOUT
15 FEET FROM ITS FOUNDATION. THE TORNADO ENDED IN A WOODED AREA
JUST TO THE NORTH OF OLD 59 DRIVE ABOUT ONE MILE EAST-NORTHEAST OF
THE BELMONT COMMUNITY. ONE MINOR INJURY WAS SUSTAINED AT A
RESIDENCE NEAR THE END OF THE TRACK.
