THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAY ME HAS CONFIRMED AN EF-0 TORNADO
NEAR WOOLWICH IN SAGADAHOC COUNTY MAINE ON JULY 24 2012.

THE TORNADO WAS OBSERVED TO TOUCH DOWN NEAR JAKES RUN IN WOOLWICH
ABOUT 7:30 PM TUESDAY EVENING AND PRODUCED MINIMAL DAMAGE FROM JAKES RUN 
TO TROTT ROAD. DAMAGE WAS LIMITED TO A FEW UPROOTED TREES AND SEVERAL
WIND-BLOWN OBJECTS INCLUDING A TRAMPOLINE, CHILDRENS TOYS, AND LAWN
FURNITURE.

THIS IS THE FIRST CONFIRMED TORNADO IN MAINE FOR 2012. 


FOR REFERENCE...THE ENHANCED FUJITA SCALE CLASSIFIES TORNADOES
INTO THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES:

EF0...WIND SPEEDS TO 85 MPH.
EF1...WIND SPEEDS 86 TO 110 MPH.
