...EF1 TORNADO CONFIRMED IN GRAND FORKS COUNTY...

A STORM SURVEY CONDUCTED THIS AFTERNOON BY THE NATIONAL WEATHER
SERVICE IN GRAND FORKS FOUND EVIDENCE OF A TORNADO FROM A STORM ON
JULY 12. THE TORNADO TRACKED FOR ABOUT 2.2 MILES FROM
APPROXIMATELY 3.8 MILES NORTH NORTHEAST OF REYNOLDS ND TO
APPROXIMATELY 5.7 MILES NORTHEAST OF REYNOLDS ND. THE TORNADO HAD
AN ESTIMATED PATH WIDTH OF 100 TO 150 YARDS. THE TORNADO LASTED
FROM APPROXIMATELY 435 PM TO 445 PM...AND WAS RATED EF-1...WITH
ESTIMATED PEAK WIND SPEEDS AROUND 90 TO 100 MPH.

NUMEROUS TREE BRANCHES WERE DOWN...WITH SEVERAL TREES DESTROYED.
TWO POWER POLES ALONG THE PATH OF THE TORNADO WERE DAMAGED. IN
ADDITION...TIN SIDING WAS BLOWN ACROSS THE YARD OF ONE FARMSTEAD.
