...08/14/13 WEAK TORNADO IN EASTERN SHERMAN COUNTY...
 
A CLUSTER OF SUPERCELL THUNDERSTORMS IMPACTED PORTIONS OF TEXAS
COUNTY OKLAHOMA...AS WELL AS SHERMAN AND HANSFORD COUNTIES IN TEXAS
DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON ON THE 14TH. THESE STORMS EVENTUALLY
CONGEALED INTO A CLUSTER OF SEVERE STORMS THAT PRODUCED A SWATH OF
DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL SOUTHWARD ACROSS PORTIONS OF HUTCHINSON...
CARSON...AND ARMSTRONG COUNTIES THROUGH THE EVENING HOURS.

AT 545 PM CDT...A BRIEF AND WEAK TORNADO WAS OBSERVED BY THE PUBLIC 14
MILES EAST OF STRATFORD NEAR TEXAS HIGHWAY 15. WITNESS ACCOUNTS INDICATE
THE TORNADO APPEARED AS A DUST WHIRL ASSOCIATED WITH A ROTATING WALL
CLOUD. THE TORNADO REMAINED OVER OPEN COUNTRY FOR THREE MINUTES AND
RESULTED IN NO DAMAGE.
