This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Iowa.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight

A Heat Advisory is in effect for the area through Thursday. 
Please refer to the National Weather Service website at 
weather.gov/desmoines for further details.

River Flood Warnings are in effect for parts of the Des Moines
River basin. Please refer to the National Weather Service website
at weather.gov/desmoines for further details.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

Thunderstorm chances return later Thursday and continue into the 
weekend. A few strong to severe storms with damaging wind gusts, 
large hail, and locally heavy rainfall are possible Thursday 
afternoon into early Friday mainly over northern Iowa. Locally 
heavy rainfall will remain possible Friday into the weekend over
central Iowa with more uncertainty with regards to any severe 
weather threat. Any heavy rainfall may lead to flash flooding or
additional river flooding.
