URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...Moderate to Heavy Snow into Tonight...

.Snow will persist across northern Iowa this evening and then
settle slowly southward into central Iowa late tonight and into  
Friday morning. There will be a sharp edge to the cutoff of
heavier snow on the south side of the heavy snow band. Snowfall 
rates will be moderate to heavy at times. In addition, northerly 
winds will increase late tonight into early Friday morning with 
areas blowing and drifting snow expected, especially in rural, 
open areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions, 
  including during the morning commute on Friday. Be prepared 
  for reduced visibilities at times.

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches.
  Heaviest amounts expected along the Highway 20 corridor with
  lighter amounts south. 

* WHERE...Portions of Central Iowa mainly along the Highway 30 
  and Highway 20 corridors.

* WHEN...Until 9 AM CST Friday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on difficult travel conditions. Be 
  prepared for significant reductions in visibility at times. 
  Areas of blowing snow are expected later tonight as north 
  winds increase.
