WEATHER SUMMARY FOR IOWA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DES MOINES IA
502 AM CST Fri Mar 9 2018

Partly to mostly cloudy skies moved into Iowa overnight. A narrow band
of light snow had reached far northwest Iowa however no accumulations
had occurred though 4 am. Temperatures early this morning ranged from
the mid teens northeast to around 30 far southwest. The wind was light
from the east.

The band of light snow over South Dakota and portions of northwest
Iowa will gradually diminish later this morning as it moves east.
Temperatures today will be warmer than the past few days but readings
will still be seasonably cool over Iowa and northward. Much warmer
conditions will be over Kansas and Missouri with highs in the 50s and
60s forecast. The next system to impact the Midwest will arrive
late Saturday afternoon into early Sunday. This system may bring
accumulating snowfall to portions of the region. Temperatures will
remain relatively cool through mid next week before warmer weather
arrives.
