September sure seemed to fly right on by! At least the weather is starting of nice for October. Well, it is time again to send out the monthly update. KCCI SchoolNet8 Homepage: http://www.kcci.com/schoolnet8/ Or directly at: http://www.schoolnet8.com SchoolNet8 Notes ================ Many of you have probably gone thru the joy of replacing your temperature / humidity sensor. Unfortunately, this sensor uses a method to directly measure the atmosphere's moisture content that causes it to wear quickly. We appreciate your help swapping these sensors out. When you send your old sensor back to KCCI, we send it to Texas Weather equipment for possible repair. Then the repaired sensor can be sent out to another school that needs it. So we appreciate your help keeping this process going.... September Website Stats ======================= The attached PDF contains website stats for September 2008. If you have any questions, please let me know. New features for October ======================== This month I focused on some needed improvements to the SchoolNet8 viewer. I tried to make the Proxy configuration code more robust and configurable from the Application (Preferences Panel). I also added a memory monitor to help diagnose problems when the application may need to be restarted. As always, let me know of any troubles. http://schoolnet8.com/sview/ I am again thinking about using a new style framework for the website, but am worried about some schools that still use old versions of Safari for their web browser. How many folks still have OS-X 10.2 labs? :) I may try some new things next month and see how it works for folks. My current analysis of website users indicates a very small portion wouldn't be able to use the new features, but that small portion may be an important few schools, which I don't want to break their site. I am rambling now :) Well, that is it for this month. Please let me know if you have any suggestions! Development is driven by your needs.
