A story has appeared on NASA's website detailing the undular bore
event here in Iowa last week. The story features the webcam lapse
from Saylorville Lake.
A more detailed analysis of this event will be coming out soon.

The quality controlled COOP data from August has been uploaded
to the IEM data coffers. It is exciting to get this dataset in
house as August was the 3rd wettest month on record in Iowa! The
current statewide ranking is:
July 1993 10.50
June 1947 10.33
August 2007 9.78

Our high temperature goes from the mid 80s to the mid 50s in a matter of 4 days! It must be weather in Iowa. On the other hand, low temperatures have yet to dip much below normal or to killing freeze levels. Climatologically, this is about the time of year for temperatures to first dip into the 20s, but the forecast has little indication that this will happen soon.
