A new KIMT StormNet site has been added in the city of Titonka,
which is just to the northeast of Algona. This site has a
preliminary NWS ID of STKI4.

The featured map is modelled soil moisture for the top 10 cm of soil taken from the <a href="http://wepp.mesonet.agron.iastate.edu">Iowa Daily Erosion Project</a>. Values around 45 mm (medium blue) indicate a saturated soil. These areas are at risk for flooding since the soil would not be able to soak in much rain water and thus it would run off into already full streams.
