The Storm Prediction Center has Iowa in a slight risk for severe weather today as a cold front will sweep the state later this evening.  The primary threat will be large hail, but if the sun is able to break out during the afternoon, an isolated tornado may be possible as well.  The sun provides low level heating which makes for a more energetic environment for thunderstorms to feed off of.
