The featured map is taken from the excellent <a href="http://www.srh.noaa.gov/rfcshare/precip_analysis_new.php">NWS Precipitation Analysis</a> website showing rainfall estimates for a 7 day period ending 7 AM on Thursday.  In general, the Western half of Iowa missed out on the heavy rains except a few counties east of Sioux City that received between 2 to 3 inches. Of course, any little bit of rain is better than none, but it appears Sioux County in far NW Iowa missed out completely.  Unfortunately, the next week looks very dry and warmer which will only cause more stress to crops.
