The October quality controlled daily data from the Iowa COOP 
network has been uploaded to the IEM.  The climodat reports
have been regenerated as well.

The number of new daily records broken for October is shown
below.  234 new record maximum low temperatures were set, this
is indicative of the very muggy and warm air that frequented the
state helping to fuel many thunderstorm complexes.

The numerous storms this December have left a mess in Iowa with hard to remove ice and snow still covering side streets, secondary roads, and driveways.  Some melting should occur this week with forecasted high temperatures right around freezing each day.  While it is still a ways out, a significant storm is forecasted by some models for next weekend which would impact Christmas travel plans for the midwest.
