This afternoon I have finished an upgrade to the IEM web farm 
to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.1 .  If you see any problems, 
please let me know.  This upgrade will allow us to take 
advantage of a newer release of PHP and the JpGraph library.

There are currently 5 systems serving up data for web 
requests.  Each system has 2 processors and 1-2 GB of memory.
Current system utilization is about 20% with a peak around 75%
during active weather.

A chart of daily high and low temperatures from Ames along with climatology shows most of the month below freezing and below normal!  The forecast has this trend continuing with highs in the 20s and lows in the single digits.  The good news is that perhaps the sun will peak thru which should help to melt the ice off of some surfaces.
