The large purple area shown on the featured map is under an Ice Storm Warning with accumulations greater than a quarter of an inch expected with some areas picking up over an inch of ice!  Just to the north of that area, a Winter Storm Warning is in effect for sleet and snow accumulations up to 6 inches.  There is some hope that after this storm, the wintery precipitation will take a break for a few days.
