This August appears to have already broken a number of precipitation records, but the calendar has a few days left and Mother Nature appears to be wishing to pad the stats some more with another storm system entering the state this morning. The <a href="http://www.hpc.ncep.noaa.gov">HPC</a> is predicting a good portion of the state to pick up another inch with higher isolated amounts. The statewide average will be approaching 10 inches for the month and the all-time monthly record for Iowa of <a href="http://dmregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070825/NEWS/708250345/-1/archive">10.5 inches</a> during July of 1993!
