The financial stock market often is said to have price supports, which include computer programs that prevent prices from falling too far by buying up stock when it falls.  In weather, the dew point provides a support preventing the temperature from falling too much at night.  The featured plot shows how for the last 9 days we have very warm over night temperatures which is a sign of the warmer dew points we have all been sweating through.  In order to cool off, we need to get rid of some of this moisture!  Thursday appears to be the start of a cooler period with a front helping to keep the muggy air south.
