The featured image is taken from the <a href="http://mesonet.agron.iastate.edu/GIS/apps/snet/raining.php">Where's it raining app</a>.  This application takes realtime data from the School based networks and overlays 15 minute rainfall accumulations with current NEXRAD imagery.  The result is an interesting look at rainfall rates and a first guess at areas still experiencing virga (no rainfall reported at the white dots).
