What is your range?

Posted: 07 Aug 2008 06:23 AM

The featured chart is a summary of high temperatures by range expressed in days for a period between 1 May and 6 Aug for Ames. For instance, if the high temperature for the day was between 70 and 79, that would count 1 in the 70s column. This year is compared with 1993 (the last great flood year) and with the years with the largest counts per category (tan highlight). An average value is shown at the bottom. It is hard to make any exact comparisons other than saying this year is certainly not like 1934 (dust bowl era)!
