It did not take long for 4 inch soil temperature to recover to near normal values (purple dashed line) in the upper 40s. This warm up is thanks to bright sunshine and warmer air arriving in the state. This warm up was desperately needed by farmers who have gotten a late start on field work this year. The forecast looks good for continued drying with the main threat for storms holding off till Saturday.
