RWIS Roadwa y surface temperatures and subsurface temperature.
Most RWIS stations have mutliple roadway sensors. Each roadway sensor records a surface temperature. S o on the plot, you will see a possibility of four readings(in red) of surface roadway temperatures. The blue number is the subsurface temperature which is usually only ob served by one instrument. The blue number is the temperature roughly 18 inches below the surface.
