Known Issues:

  • These numbers are not official and there is missing data in this dataset.
  • A problem with the Newton precip sensor was fixed in July, so it has started to report precipitation in September. There is also a recording difference at this station that was accounted for.
  • Vinton, Pella, Monticello, Mount Pleasant, and Independence do not have a precipitation sensor, so their totals are 0.
  • The precip sensor at Keokuk appears to have been broken over the summer.
  • Precipitation amounts during the cold season are not accurate.
  • A recording procedure changed at the Clarinda site without our knowledge, an adjustment was made to the precip values to reflect this recording change.
  • Clarinda appears to have stopped reporting precip since August.
  • Oelwein was not reporting precip for some reason this fall.
